(TICKETED EVENT)
2 hour tour
Cost:
$25 per person. Limited to 20 people.

You’ll have two opportunities to join retired Bar members Mary Helen Dantzler and Therese Smythe for a walking tour of downtown Charleston. The two sisters were raised in downtown Charleston and whose family dates from 1793. They follow in the footsteps of their mother, Julie Ann Trouche, who was a long-time licensed tour guide and Charleston icon who never met a stranger. They have found their true calling as local tour guides, sharing their love of Charleston with visitors. You’ll learn about Charleston’s 300-year history but with a personal touch only a true Charlestonian can provide and see some of the most historic homes of South Carolina now beautifully preserved and restored to their former glory. Along the way you will be entertained with anecdotes of colorful local characters, tales of lesser-known events in Charleston’s past, and stories of days gone by.

There is something alluring about the art of wine blending grapes from different regions, vineyards and aging techniques coming together to deliver a flavor with a backstory. Then the complex chemistry behind it!

We’ve captured this experience and brought it to you where you’re invited to play winemaker. This experience is truly unique and the first-of- its-kind in Charleston.

Not only will you taste different wine varietals, but you’ll also create a custom blend of your own, complete with your very own label. We’ll serve light bites along the way. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a sommelier to blend the perfect bottle, we’ll have one nearby just in case.
